MATTHEW'S SOFTWARE

I've used Adventure Maker, and Flash, to create interactive content. Some of these are full-fledged games, others are more like virtual tours that you can explore. But first, I'd like to mention the series that influenced and inspired some of these projects.

MYST ONLINE: URU LIVE PROMO SITE

This is my website promoting the pinnacle of the Myst series, Uru. The website offers a casual overview of the game -- and also a link to the controversial "Uru Wars Online" hoax website I did on April Fools' day.

If you like my little explorable worlds below but want to see the inspiration behind them - the amazing creations of Cyan Worlds - check it out!

Sehv T'devokan

"Sehv T'devokan" was created around 2004, as a small Myst fangame. It was made in three weeks using Lightwave 7.5, Photoshop, and Adventure Maker. It contains a small 3d world to explore, and several puzzles.

Traveler's Enigma

"Traveler's Enigma", is a much larger, more ambitious, original work, with a panoramic interface, custom inventory and hint guide systems, and loads of gorgeous ambient music (courtesy of Iain Morland), many visually stunning computer-generated environments, and a large volume of integrated animation. It is its own world, with its own history and its own unsettling "reality", which becomes increasingly peculiar the more it is uncovered. It is also fairly controversial in its internally-conflicted synthesis of political, spiritual, and philosophical expression. I have been working on "Traveler's Enigma" for about three years now. I've put many hundreds of hours of work into it and it is probably the most impressive adventure game ever made for under $1000.

Riven: The Seventh Isle

A 10th anniversary tribute to the classic adventure game, Riven: The sequel to Myst. Not a game, really, just an explorable 3d environment.

Flash Mental Illness Project

An impressive 3d multimedia presentation done in Flash, regarding 3 common mental disorders - specifically, the 3 I have (and therefore have some personal interest in).

Flash Houston Oil Industry Project

Some great 3d work, various animations, dynamic text, cool transitions. Done for a UH class. I ran out of time so I sort of rushed the audio work but most everything else in this is pretty well done.

Virtual Church

Right-click the image link below to download my "Virtual Church" app which I did as a previsualization for Pastor Jackson. It was an early freelance job, and it turned out well. The 3d model for this multimedia project had over 3 million polygons, and the size of the explorable area is immense. More pics and details regarding the making of this virtual tour are available on the CONTRACT page.
