"Thank the Maker you've returned."

"What is it now, Atrus?"

"It's my wife Catherine. Her nephew needs your help."

"Her nephew? I thought you called me here for something important! You shouldn't ask me to do all your errands for you. I mean, really! With you it's always rescue this, save that..."

"Please, I need your help!"

"Okay. Just one more time."

"I'm sending you to Riven to retrieve the young boy. He was left behind when the Rivenese villagers evacuated, exactly ten years ago. That's a decade he's been alone on Riven. He was a quiet sort of child, easy to forget. It's possible he's still alive though at this point I highly doubt it and don't really care."

"Riven? I thought Riven was destroyed."

"Not exactly."

"You mean, it still exists?"

I stare dumbfounded.

"In pieces, yes. Fragments."

"And he's on one of these fragments?"

"Perhaps. The seventh isle of Riven. That is where I am sending you."

"The seventh isle?"

"Yes. There are 25 islands and five continents of Riven. You didn't think it was just a small archipelago, did you?"

"I don't know what I thought."

"Please return with the nephew. If you can't find him, Catherine will have a hissy fit."

"Uh. Yeah. "Nephew". Whatever. If Catherine really had a nephew, you would care. Admit it -- this is just a shoddy excuse to let players visit more of Riven, isn't it."

"Yes."

"Okay. Cool. I'm in. I love Riven."

THE SEVENTH ISLE OF RIVEN - A 3d art project released on Oct. 31, 2007 - the 10th anniversary of the release of Riven.

A small tribute to a great game. Because who doesn't want to see more of Riven?

Hopefully this will tide you peeps over until "Traveler's Enigma" is released. I designed this at first for part of "Enigma" but then decided I could adapt it into Riven. Or vice-versa. Whatever.

Riven: The Seventh Isle is not really a game, just a 3d environment. The artwork of Riven: The Seventh Isle is intended as one fan's homage to the company Cyan Worlds, their talented artists, and their superb game, Riven, which was released 10 years ago. This is meant mostly as a nostalgic reference to a great work, not parody so much, although this page promoting it is admittedly quite silly.

Riven: The Seventh Isle is Windows-only (as are any Adventure Maker applications).
