I really don't know the legal ramifications of the website. If I said I did, I'd be lying. I'm rather clueless. I've used, once in a while, music from movies and other sources. There's some Star Trek music in the HT series, a short clip from “Rocky” in Super Soda, Clips from Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings in two of the Troop 4 videos. “Superdog”uses a segment of the Superman theme. Aliens! Is clearly a reference to James Cameron's movie of the same name, but no content in it is taken from anything other than the official trailer. “Star Wars vs. Star Trek” also uses only low-res video freely and legally available on the internet. The HT series (1-3) used a few pyro clips painstakingly extracted frame by frame from (free) Star Trek episode trailers. All of the audio stuff is compressed into fairly dismal audio quality, usually layered over with sound effects or very short in length, and in the few cases where a decently long stretch of music is played by itself, the intention is very clearly parody, which is legally protected. Whenever I have used someone else's property I make reference to the source, thus offering free advertising to the studio that created the relevant film/TV. I do not believe anything I have put in these videos can be easily extracted; even if it somehow were, it would in all cases be significantly inferior in quality and length to the official content. I believe that in all of the above cases the terms of fair use are satisfied, to the best of my knowledge. If any studio personnel are upset by my use of said content, I will willingly pull the offending videos off the web or alter them to remove the copyrighted content. I will cooperate with any official complaints, though I do not (to the best of my limited knowledge) believe I have done anything extending beyond terms of fair use, and I do not intend to use the property of others in future projects without paying for the legal right to do so; given that I am now older and wiser than I was when making the previously mentioned content. Incidentally, there are some people the RIAA has sued who have become objects of sympathy; directing lawsuits against ordinary people has been known to sometimes backfire severely in court from a PR standpoint. Given that I am: --Mentally ill and someone who has suffered a great deal emotionally and psychologically --A Christian who gives 40+% of his income to charity, THOUSANDS of dollars which have already been sent to aid the poorest people in the world. --An independent, the “little guy”, the underdog, the self-made man with a small, innovative, efficient homegrown business (as opposed to a corporate giant who has limited public sympathy) --Using content in a manner which is arguably fair use --Advertising YOUR media stuff to thousands of people who could be your potential customers, therefore resulting in use of your content which increases, not damages, your sales I humbly request that you NOT take legal action against me, and settle any disputes without going to court. Thank you.
