2007 was a year of rapidly increasing potential, both for this website and for my career. There were a few cool things released this year, from the stock footage to "Sleepwalker" and "God and Country Flying Circus". And this website, which first appeared in January 2007 and grew immensely during the year.

Movies released in 2007, in order of completion (so far): "Sleepwalker", "God and Country Flying Circus".

I obtained the following resources in 2007: Lightwave 9 (upgrade), No Control Cinema stock footage, Garageband jam pack, Adobe After Effects CS3, Final Cut Express, camera dolly, Detfilms HD stock footage, pyro stuff, more props, more makeup, a lot of clothing items, Adobe CS3 package, 3d Studio Max, new PC with 3 GB RAM, 750 GB external hard drive, etc.

TITLE: "Sleepwalker"

LENGTH: 7 minutes GENRE: Art/Family Video/Comedy/Thriller

SUMMARY: Recorded during Christmas vacation, this video is about Nathan's strange night-time behavior and Eileen's attempts to stop it.

PROS: Visual style blending black-and-white with color elements in "Sin City" manner, good sound design, some interesting visual elements, cameos by several relatives.

CONS: Has minimal plot. This was recorded *immediately* with no chance to write a script beforehand, as "something fun to do with the kids" and therefore the story is more or less nonexistent. The postproduction, therefore, is the strongest aspect of this movie.

GOD AND COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY

LENGTH: 8 minutes GENRE: Documentary/Spoof

SUMMARY: God and Country Merit badge, documented, for a requirement. Becoming more exciting than previously anticipated.

PROS: Anthony's edition of the Bible. Memory loss comedy sketch. Minhthien's funky music video. And most importantly, boy scouts misusing cool-looking superpowers in a spoof of ABC's "Heroes". About 25 decent VFX shots. And yes, it's silly. About 60% of it is, at least.

CONS: Not yet finished. Has some dull moments. And boy scouts are routinely poor actors. But we'll see. Could be fun.
